Man-made lagoon

This Lagoon is man-made and onsite is a floating restaurant with caged fresh seafood, accomodation and offers ziplines.

We dined at the restaurant J & A Fishpen but were not that impressed.

Surrounding area is quite pretty.

Ziplining above the Lagoon.

J & A Fishpen Resort and Restaurant offers the first and only zipline in Camiguin. For P250, you can ride the zipline in two cables, first one is a 740 meter ride and the other one is 480 meters which directly drops you off on the restaurant. Unlike the other ziplines I’ve read about, they do not weigh you here. After paying for it you are then oriented about the do’s and dont’s while doing the ride. You are also given head and other protective gears.

I was so excited and at the same time scared because it was my first time and I’m afraid of heights. Even when ascending to the platform my knees where shaking. While they where putting harness on my body, I keep on shouting and saying on the crew,"Ayaw sa kuya, ayaw sa! Di pa ako ready!", in vernacular. They kept on laughing at me. I was shocked because they didn’t warn me that they would release me already. By then I realized that I was just scaring my self and ziplining was not scary at all.

It was magnificent while on top. The lagoon was very beautiful. There was nothing to be afraid of after all. My pace was slower than my boyfriend’s. I wished I had some more weight on me so I would go faster but the ride made me more appreciative of my surroundings. It was really beautiful. It was a heck of a ride.

Note: I think its better that you wear shoes rather than slippers. I was not prepared that time that’s why I only wore slippers.

Anyway, enjoy your ride!

Quick visit

We are looking for a quick chow as it was 11am and our ferry will be leaving @12noon. Did not make it to j&a fish pen resto as the time contraints and instead ordered in a nearby bistro. Luckily a tour guide, miss fem, while waiting for our food lectured us what to do in tanguines lagoon the next time we visit in camiguin like fishing bangus @450/kilo where in abundance around the lagoon inside fences. Halfway through our lunch, our frantic travel agent found us to inform the ferry was leaving camiguin.

Serenity

Superb! It’s not just the accommodation but the warm welcome and the excellent service extended to us by the owners of the place themselves. David was a big help as he recommended best places to visit. He even arranged our transport for our 2 days stay. Our driver is very reliable and helped us in negotiating with the locals. Best accommodation for an island adventure.

Accessible from Benoni Port

Now improved comparing to my first stop over Camiguin island particularly Benoni Port when it was still part of Mis Or. province.

Tanguines Lagoon is the home of the Marine Sanctuary managed by the Bureau of Fisheries. They welcome tourist for a short tour. They are proud to bring you around. There is also a nice restaurant close to this area.
