Alona Royal Palm Resort & Restaurant

We liked a lot this humanly sized, quality and well managed resort, well situated close to the main street in alona, with restaurants, stores pharmacies but at a short walk away from noise. Rooms: We appreciated a lot the room size, their comfort, the mosquito nets behind the door. The bathroom and its size. The rain shower. The smell of the hand soap. The smell of towels and linen The comfortable beds. The complimentary water daily furnished The food: The restaurant in itself is a gem: many types of food available. Great taste, wether you like asian, philippino, grills, or european, you’ll find something that fits your diet. The breakfast is the best i’ve had ( while going through 4 hotels in philippines) we took the american with a choice of german basket bread since we’re not into the industrial sweet toasts that are always available in philippines. You can even get a choice of cheeses and ham for additional coast. The self cooking on black stone is a must to try. The restaurant is great also because of its situation: calm, surrounded by palm trees and other flower trees like hibiscus, etc.. with a view on the pool, and not so loud music, though enough to make you enjoy your meal. The service: everybody was nice and welcoming. From housekeeping to restaurant to guardian. The hotel has a brochure of a tour operator and can arrange for you trips around, and transfers, private driver etc... The laundry service is great and at a good price, don’t hesitate to get your clothes washed they will be back to you smelling like heaven. The situation: the resort is close to everything needed in panglao, but also ideal if you need to relax and take some rest. The hotel itself is calm and peaceful. This resort is totally worth a 4 stars rating. What details could be improved to raise it to a 5 stars hotel? Some more racks in the bathroom to hang the towels, and to hold on when taking a shower to avoid slippery. The aircon directly on the bed with a strong blue light when on ( might bother you if you have some sleeping issues) The chicken noise in neighborhood(but that seems to be part of philippines experience !!!) …

Wonderful little resort where you forget about a loud and busy city. Peace and quiet, pleasant pool and well-kept garden. Perfectly clean rooms and bathroom. Service at the highest level, a sympathetic German owner runs the resort with his wife, there is a family atmosphere, besides, there are two cute dogs living there????. Delicious food, fantastic breakfasts, when we left we even got sandwiches for the road. We will definitely get back and will recommend to everyone.

If your looking for a place to stay in Alona then this is it! The resort itself was spotless and it was clear it was very well looked after. Our room was also spotless and very spacious with everything you would need inside. The best part about our stay though was the food in the restaurant (I defiantly recommend trying the hot stone - the steak was to die for!) The staff were also fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel very welcome from the minute we arrived! Would love to visit this resort again one day.
